This was an advanced class and the Statistics part helped me understand and interpret real-world data, whether it’s research findings, surveys, or trends in science and technology. Probability is key for assessing risk and uncertainty, skills that are needed for modeling and predicting outcomes in various scientific fields. Additionally, these subjects sharpened my critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
I relied on the Khan academy Statistics and Probability course, which was very comprehensive and offered me enough lessons and practice to succeed in this subject. I gained a deep understanding of the principles and applications of statistics and probability and focused on preparing for university-level science or math. I learned about how to analyze data, interpret results, and apply statistical methods to real-world situations, which are essential skills for my future academic and professional pursuits.
I studied categorical data, such as analyzing one variable and working with two-way tables. I understood the concepts and applying them through the exercises and challenges provided. It’s been engaging, especially with the hands-on approach of working with data sets. In another unit, I studied the visualization of quantitative data through graphs. I have built a solid foundation that will help me in future courses and I’ve also learned how to interpret distributions and apply statistical measures like mean, median, and standard deviation.
